This year the softball assessments will include all girls ages (10-12). This is different from previous divisions of Little League play, where teams are assigned based on factors such as coach/teammate requests and school assignments. For Majors we want to understand where players are at today, skill-wise, before drafting team assignments.
During the assessment, we will run through a series of practice drills for three (3) hours that will allow players to demonstrate their current skills so that we can best build the teams. Players will spend time with the Majors managers and coaches fielding, running bases, pitching and catching (if applicable), and batting. Pitching and catching will happen in the last 45 minutes of the assessment.
Softball Assessments
- Saturday, February 1 at Ingraham HS (12:00-2:00pm)
- Check-in is at 11:45am. Assessments will start at 12:00pm sharp.
As weather can be variable and challenging this time of year, please be prepared! Unless it is completely unplayable, expect assessment to happen as scheduled. Players should dress for the weather with non-restricting layers, plus bring their usual practice gear - cleats, gloves, sliding pants (no shorts please), bats, helmets and fielding masks. We'll be on artificial turf.
